Characters
Superheroes, rock stars, celebrities, what's a character? I myself have been called one, except I'm not poured in polyester resin. Building a "character" can be challenging because sometimes it has to look like somebody in particular. We begin by sculpting a head in clay, capturing that persons most identifiable features which makes that person unique. The problem is people age. Check out the figures commonly referred to as the young Elvis and the old Elvis. Which one is how you remember him best?
Other characters are easy to sculpt because artistic license is required as a figure such as Little Red Riding Hood can be anything desired in the mind's eye of the sculptor unless of course someone wants her to look like someone like Dakota Fanning or Shirley Temple.
